i love jeff lewis.
ellenthefellon 6th-Sep-2007 06:17 pm (UTC)
Well.

Damn.
lulubloom 6th-Sep-2007 06:17 pm (UTC)
Most of the time I don't mind Rosie, but seriously? STFU. It's a fucking typo about a date. WOW. NOBODY CARES THAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY 4 YEARS YOUNGER THAN THAT IMPLIES EXCEPT YOU.

/holy capslock batman
ilovemeganm 6th-Sep-2007 06:19 pm (UTC)
!? that's not the point
if you wrote a book that had to do a lot with your life/childhood/etc you would be mad as hell if they ruined the dates.
lulubloom 6th-Sep-2007 06:21 pm (UTC)
I suppose, but honestly? I'd have asked to see a copy before it went to print to make sure something like that didn't happen. Editors are supposed to catch things, but if the book meant that much to her, she should've given it a once over herself.
spankymalone 6th-Sep-2007 06:24 pm (UTC)
I wouldn't. A little annoying but, personally, I choose my battles very carefully in life. Typo's aren't worth this amount of drama.

Rosie has turned into a huge victim who gets psychotic over every little slight, imagined or not.

Shit happens to us all. So what? She needs to seriously up her meds.
nandy_pandy 6th-Sep-2007 06:39 pm (UTC)
I agree. If it was a minor typo, that's one thing, but that was an entirely different date. Where are they getting their info from? She should have looked the book over before letting it go to print, but at the same time, someone should have caught that. It's misinformation.
spankymalone 6th-Sep-2007 06:21 pm (UTC)
IAWTC so much. Getting cancer, losing a child, going to war, breaking up with a lover. These are things to get upset about. A typo in a book? Not so much.

Whatever happened to laughing at yourself, lightening up a little? This woman just has no fucking perspective. Who the fuck cares when she was born?!
___bikethief 6th-Sep-2007 06:25 pm (UTC)
r u jaykaying?
lemonsherry 6th-Sep-2007 06:35 pm (UTC)
god forbid she be particular about the date her mother was diagnosed with cancer. you jump over that part and only focus on the fact that she said 'i was born in 1962', obviously she's complaining about her age.
aleronihead 6th-Sep-2007 06:52 pm (UTC)
A book circulates for a long time. Authors and people who work on them want to have them done right. It's a huge deal if dates are wrong, it makes the Publisher and Editors look sloppy, and the project look rushed.

More than likely, she had a crappy experience from the get-go and this is the last straw.
deathtoperham 6th-Sep-2007 06:53 pm (UTC)
Isn't it HER book? Wasn't she supposedly the one who wrote it? Couldn't she have at least looked it over before it went to press?

I hate people who have all sorts of minions to do their shit for them, then complain when something goes wrong. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Especially if you're taking all the credit for it anyway.
crashclash 6th-Sep-2007 07:49 pm (UTC)
i don't normally like rosie. but honestly, i think she has a reason to be pissed about the dates. yeah, she should've looked it over, but after it's out of the author's hands, a book circulates a lot. i don't think it's the age thing. i think it's just the idea that they messed up the dates of a huge part of her life?
matthewgoodband 6th-Sep-2007 08:26 pm (UTC)
lmao wow you even type like a moron
sweetacm61584 6th-Sep-2007 08:59 pm (UTC)
In her defense, it is probably the book marketer's fault for not making sure the jacket was okay. That being said, she should have had more involvement.
likeawoman 6th-Sep-2007 09:04 pm (UTC)
right, and if the book came out like that, you don't think people would jump on the "inaccuracy?"
buttercup31 6th-Sep-2007 09:05 pm (UTC)
Wow, completely missed the point of the issue, didn't you?

This is a work of non-fiction, they messed up the year her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She only provided her age so that people could do the math themselves (well, people who can do math). Not only was the year wrong, the sentence makes no sense with her as a 10-year-old instead of a six-year-old.
aboutbefore 6th-Sep-2007 11:17 pm (UTC)
Wow, am I like the only one who agrees with you? And I can't help but think that wow, maybe if she'd actually given imput in "her" book then it probably wouldn't be wrong in the first place.
__allodoxa 7th-Sep-2007 02:03 am (UTC)
Yeah it's the damn jacket not the inside of the book. It's like they let an intern write it.. and being as it should just be a general representation of what you're about to read - they probably don't get Rosie's input on it. I mean, who the fuck would think that an error like that would happen if all the context is right within the actual book?

I think she has more than enough reason to be pissed, and yeah, I do think the date her mother was diagnosed and her birth date are extremely important - because isn't that what shaped her life and the reason the book even exists?

Come on.
fatima109 6th-Sep-2007 06:18 pm (UTC)
the view sucks without her. to barbara and beth hassel, i say "NO ONIONS." someone should make the caturday "does not want" with jeff lewis and an onion.
poppyspiral 6th-Sep-2007 07:07 pm (UTC)
ohh, that's a good idea. if i had computer talent i'd be on it.
_voxy Movies?6th-Sep-2007 06:18 pm (UTC)

spankymalone 6th-Sep-2007 06:19 pm (UTC)
Okay, yes, that's a little irritating.

I know ONTD adores her but she's the biggest whiner on this entire planet. Is she every happy? Or even in the ballpark of happy? Bitter old lesbians aren't much fun in my world.
foreignland 6th-Sep-2007 06:19 pm (UTC)
lol I can just picture her screaming in her house this morning at everyone because of this. Damn.
raptorwrath 6th-Sep-2007 06:19 pm (UTC)

Lovely grammar and punctuation there, Ro.
