David Beckham: "I'm a terrible person.."

David Beckham is a 'terrible person' when he's not playing soccer. The LA Galaxy star sulks when he's injured and wife Victoria must endure his snarly mood swings. Becks explained:

"I'm a terrible person to be around when I'm not playing soccer. When I'm injured or when I'm off the team, you can ask my wife, she knows exactly how I am and how passionate I am about being on the field, and when I'm not on the field it affects me on and off the pitch."

However, he's finding family life in LA much more pleasurable. David told CNN International's World Sport:

"I'm loving it. I think it's a great place to bring up kids. It's a great place for my family to live. Victoria is happy and the three boys are really happy. They couldn't be any happier at the moment. There are so many different places they haven't been. They go down to the beach once or twice a week. To have that quality in their lives makes them very happy."

But, Becks still does miss merry old England. He added:

"I miss a lot of things. I miss my family back there. My parent, my grandparents, my sisters. It's about experiencing different things, different cultures and ways of life. What better way of life than living in the U.S. and bringing your kids up here for a while."

wouldnt it be great if you put all of that ~PASSION~ into something worthwhile, like curing world hunger or AIDS, as opposed to milking america for every penny you possibly can while you kick a ball around on a grassy field
rvnscarlet 20th-Aug-2007 05:09 pm (UTC)

xjustkidding 20th-Aug-2007 06:00 pm (UTC)
As someone who thinks that yes, America needs change, I have to say that your statement just comes across as ignorant and completely ridiculous.

I'm not saying you're ignorant and ridiculous, but you really need to learn how to phrase things if you want people to take you as an intelligent person. Especially when dealing with politics.

_plagiarism 20th-Aug-2007 06:35 pm (UTC)
god, you are so fucking stupid.

savannah_rose24 Sorta OT:20th-Aug-2007 05:13 pm (UTC)
Do you have to be born in England or one of its Commonwealths to play for England on an international level, like at the FIFA World Cup?
calderone9 Re: Sorta OT:20th-Aug-2007 05:18 pm (UTC)
yeah u have to beborn in england or at least be part english ( like owen hargeaves i think) to play for them.
savannah_rose24 Re: Sorta OT:20th-Aug-2007 05:25 pm (UTC)
Thanks.
neptunepirate Re: Sorta OT:20th-Aug-2007 05:21 pm (UTC)
I think the deal is you have to have citizenship in England? Like Owen Hargreaves, he was born in Canada, lived a lot of his life in Germany, but plays for England because his parents are English.

Idk for sure though.
morethanalot Re: Sorta OT:20th-Aug-2007 05:57 pm (UTC)
so it is basically like this: you don't have to be born in england or to english parents to play for england. all you need is an english passport.

oh and you must not have played for any other national team (even at youth level)

so if you are born in america to american parents move to england when you are 20 and never played for the american NT team before (again that includes youth teams so no U17 matches) you CAN play for the english NT if they give you a british citizenship.

at least that are the rules according to the fifa. the FA might apply different rules...
_bodyinmotion 20th-Aug-2007 05:14 pm (UTC)
ugh i hate that whole fam. i mean minus the little boys obvs theyre hella cute...but i have a feelin they will grow up shallow and pretentious just like their parents.
