Kirsten Dunst & Jake Gyllenhaal have gone to great lengths to keep their personal life private-- even faking a breakup! While the couple reportedly split in July 2004, a friend of Jake's confides that it was all a sham. "Their breakup last year was faked so that the press would leave them alone," the pal reveals. "They've been together the whole time." Jake's buddy said the pair are considering an engagement later this year, but want to keep a low public profile. The source adds, "It's all very planned."


i guess they just figured out that no one's been caring about them lately.

I don't believe it was a fake, didn't Kristen have some breakdown at a party, or some public place a few days after it happened? I read about it in a few mags. She's not that good of an actress.

i have been thinking for awhile now that perhaps that's what brad and jen are up to. potential evidence: they seemed to happy in those final vacation pics before the announcement and they were still living in the house together and wearing their wedding bands and not proceeding to divorce (just separated). i don't know... hmmm....
