It's bad enough that 1 in every 4 people in the EU speak English vs. 1 in every 7 speaking French, so in order to keep their language 'pure' everything that can be dubbed, is.

i agree that french speakers are really protective about their language, but i don't think that's their reason for translating&dubbing interviews with anglophones. i'm in quebec for school and everything here is dubbed... except for interviews with anglos, 'cause the hosts speak english anyway and it's easier to sub than to dub.
