Angelina in mourning, drops to 109 lbs

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Life in the Big Easy has had its challenges for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt since they moved to New Orleans in January. Ever since Jolie's mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died of cancer last month, the star just hasn't been the same, sources say.

Jolie's emotional distress has resulted in a noticeable weight loss. The 5-foot-8 star now weighs 109 pounds, says a source close to the couple. "She isn't eating."

Jolie, 31, is also "very lonely and desperate to make new friends," the source tells Us.

For now, she has been importing a support system by flying in old childhood friends from LA.

The source adds: "Brad has been worried about her day and night. She has been under so much stress, and Brad is trying to be understanding."

New friends?
Like who?
numb_crystal Re: :/22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
TomKat

they see to make friends with really random people
thelovehater Re: :/22nd-Feb-2007 12:03 am (UTC)
You're right they do pick weird friends. TomKat could be good for her. I hear Scientologists have lots of cookouts. Maybe they'll get her to eat something.
vendettav Re: :/22nd-Feb-2007 12:05 am (UTC)
I really want to post a picture of Jennifer Aniston
anijen21 21st-Feb-2007 11:59 pm (UTC)
hang in there, bb. worst part's over
dcdiva 22nd-Feb-2007 12:14 am (UTC)
What's the worst part :-(
anijen21 22nd-Feb-2007 12:15 am (UTC)
lol the first day
jazzyd 22nd-Feb-2007 04:03 am (UTC)
Eh, not really...worst part of mourning a close loved one comes 6-7 months after the death. Seriously. The first day is the most shocking, but all the pain resurfaces later.
numb_crystal 21st-Feb-2007 11:59 pm (UTC)
oh whatever. she was beginning to look scary and haggard long before her mom died.
asleeper 22nd-Feb-2007 12:15 am (UTC)
Agreed. Its sad that she lost her mom, but she doesn't look any different than she did before.
numb_crystal 22nd-Feb-2007 12:20 am (UTC)
exactly. Lots of people were pointing out a month before her mom died that she was looking sickly and lost too much weight.

though i'm sure her mom dying isn't helping the issue :/
witnessthine 22nd-Feb-2007 12:48 am (UTC)
well, obviously it ain't helping her situation
chaka_kahn 22nd-Feb-2007 01:13 am (UTC)
true.
chrisgold 22nd-Feb-2007 01:22 am (UTC)
She just had a baby, the press has been crazy and maybe her Mom had been sick for a while. There's plenty of reasons for her to be stressed and haggard looking. I think the press over her was even worse than that over Britney.
tigirah 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
I'll b ur friend angie
minds_been_lost 22nd-Feb-2007 12:11 am (UTC)

lovedhurtlost 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
Brad, come to me, bb. I'll give you a little cushin' for the pushin'.
anterrabre 22nd-Feb-2007 03:44 am (UTC)
What, you don't want to be Angelina's friend too? You just want to steal her man. Admit it, you know it to be true!
stacatory 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
109 isnt that bad
lovedhurtlost 22nd-Feb-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
She's 5'8, though.
numb_crystal 22nd-Feb-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
t would give her a bmi of 16.8, which is underweight
stacatory 22nd-Feb-2007 12:18 am (UTC)
true. i just calculated mine, its 17.8. i love food but im a fucking stick!
eviltera 22nd-Feb-2007 12:02 am (UTC)
best icon ever.
sonrisaparami 22nd-Feb-2007 12:45 am (UTC)
I'm 5'8 and I weigh 130 and I'm skinny. 108 is like.. terrible.
witnessthine 22nd-Feb-2007 12:48 am (UTC)
i'm as tall as her and i weigh 142, all my friends and family consider me thin.... so yeah
vintage_tears 22nd-Feb-2007 01:20 am (UTC)
yea i don't buy that. im 107 at 5'9" and shes skinnier than me

i'd guess like 104, maybe 103
lovelikeair 22nd-Feb-2007 02:44 am (UTC)
girlfriend weighs less than that...i guarantee it.
emtqueen85 22nd-Feb-2007 05:38 am (UTC)
At 5'8? She doesn't have a tiny birdie bone structure either. She should not be so close to a double-digit weight.
ophelia_wild 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
Ugh, her and Drab Pitt need to go away forever.
jamieaqua 22nd-Feb-2007 12:12 am (UTC)
ha drab pitt, love it.
brittanyleann 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)

hollsh 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
I feel terrible for her. I can't imagine how bad she must feel. :(
pikapika217 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
I can already see people being bitchy about this, which sucks. I feel really bad for her :( get well soon, Angie!
healthypanda 22nd-Feb-2007 12:04 am (UTC)
I know, seriously. She must be in a lot of pain right now.
kinenbi 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
Ahh, so she isn't perfect after all.
anakisa 22nd-Feb-2007 12:00 am (UTC)
I don't even know what I'd do if I lost my mum...
lovedhurtlost 22nd-Feb-2007 12:02 am (UTC)
Shit, I'd be fucked up for YEARS. They'd probably have to lock me up.
endlessness 22nd-Feb-2007 12:25 am (UTC)

healthypanda 22nd-Feb-2007 12:04 am (UTC)

numb_crystal 22nd-Feb-2007 12:04 am (UTC)

vendettav 22nd-Feb-2007 12:06 am (UTC)
ONTD LOVES THEIR MOMS
valhalley 22nd-Feb-2007 12:23 am (UTC)
I see people on the news who have lost their child or parent to some brutality and I can't even understand how they were able to shower or eat. I don't know how I'd function.
bikini_killl 22nd-Feb-2007 12:47 am (UTC)
i hear you..i think it would be worse to lose a child though
Although both are obviouslt devestating
stuckmodebabe 22nd-Feb-2007 12:49 am (UTC)
ditto. I really dread that phone call or the news that one day will come. sucks...
so_sharlemaine 22nd-Feb-2007 12:57 am (UTC)
I'd be totally unable to function. I feel bad for anyone who's lost their Mom.
hydrocarbons 22nd-Feb-2007 01:00 am (UTC)
o god me neither. that's seriously one of my worst fears
staygoldpnyboy 22nd-Feb-2007 01:16 am (UTC)
i dont either, and im so terrified to lose her. shes the only one in my family left that i would be lost without. it doesnt help that shes a chain smoker.
pochaccoyoly 22nd-Feb-2007 01:48 am (UTC)
It's a very hard thing to go through.
Truly it is. Next month will be 20 years, and there are times I wake up having panic attacks and crying out for her. I knew she was sick (breast cancer) and that she started to not to recognize me or being able to hold my baby brother, but when I saw the ekg machine with its flatline and the paramedics telling me, "We are sorry, but your mom has died!" For that 9 year old child I once was, it felt as if the world stood still.
hyunjoong 22nd-Feb-2007 01:54 am (UTC)
oh god, me neither. and especially my grandmother. she's like a mother to me so.. yeah. it's going to kill me.
jazzyd 22nd-Feb-2007 04:05 am (UTC)
I lost mine when I was 14. My brother was 9. Still not over it, 8 years later. Some days are worse than others.
benvolio87 22nd-Feb-2007 04:19 am (UTC)
Ditto. My mom's like, my only family member that I converse with (other than my aunt in Toronto). If she died, I don't know WHAT I'd do.

It dosen't help that she's got a degenerating back, and on a cocktail of painkillers... I get so scared sometimes.
emtqueen85 22nd-Feb-2007 05:40 am (UTC)
My dad died when I was 13, so losing my mom or sister scares the shit out of me.

Although truth be told, while I'd be incredibly upset over my mom's death, I would go batshit insane if my sister died.
absolutnerd 22nd-Feb-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
I wish I could stop eating when I'm stressed. I'm such a fatty :( me and Tom Cruise...
tigirah 22nd-Feb-2007 12:03 am (UTC)
me too. stress has the opposite effect on me :(
lovedhurtlost 22nd-Feb-2007 12:03 am (UTC)

I've got the same problem. :(

ps: i love phyllis!
someindianblood 22nd-Feb-2007 01:17 am (UTC)
Me too :(
metatrix 22nd-Feb-2007 01:36 am (UTC)
I heard it's different depending on the type of stress. School/work stress = expanding waistline (your brain needs carbs to function, hence the cravings). Loss/heartbreak/suicidal depression = wasting away. I've only experienced the so-sad-can't-eat mood for a couple days when this stupid asshole boy broke my heart : (
I think I'm thankful most of the stress in my life is the former type, though, even if it means I'm not as skinny as I'd like to be. Small price to pay?
erunameundomiel 22nd-Feb-2007 02:46 am (UTC)
Nope...all sorts of stress and moods make me want to eat...depression, work stress whatever. Sugar seems to make me feel temporarily better.
erica_alexis 22nd-Feb-2007 03:40 am (UTC)
I think it really depends on the person, though I can see that being true for many people. I know that tend to gain weight when I'm depressed because I don't care enough to work at staying in shape.
utenafreak 22nd-Feb-2007 01:40 am (UTC)
Me too, I wish I could just "forget to eat" sometimes, lol.
erunameundomiel 22nd-Feb-2007 02:47 am (UTC)
I can't believe some people are laughing at your comment. *refrains from saying anything else*
babyhomecakes 22nd-Feb-2007 06:27 am (UTC)
Last year when I got into some trouble, I was so stressed and worried about what would happen I barely ate. It sucked because I had no energy and also was really depressed so I didnt do much of anything.

What sucked was after everything was finished, I felt better and then gained all the weight back and then some. (I probably lost 10 or 15 lbs)
bellichka 22nd-Feb-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
Because people walk around announcing to their friends *precisely* how much they weigh? Lol okay. Although I think "a source close to the couple" says it all.
numb_crystal 22nd-Feb-2007 12:02 am (UTC)
haha it's hilarious when articles make up random weights for celebs
h_hrlova 22nd-Feb-2007 12:27 am (UTC)
what's worse is imagining her say to any source that she needs new friends.

well, yeah,...your source if true, Angie.
eviltera 22nd-Feb-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
Awww, Brad is trying to be understanding.

FU.
