my mom had gastric bypass--they say you can get pregnant 5-7 years after your surgery because by that point, your body has adjusted and you're receiving nutrients properly. plus, you have to take massive amounts of supplements and nutritional shakes and blah blah blah. i'm sure the baby'll fine--she can afford good doctors.

They say to wait 18-24 months until you try for a baby after having gastric bypass. Usually women who are overweight have abnormal cycles and they make you go on bc as soon as possible after your surgery because after dropping so much weight, so quickly your cycle goes a little wacky. There are some women out there who dont listen and you'll find some women having babies a few months out of gb surgery and that isn't the best thing to do, but it happens. I, have a gastric bypass, and although I'm not going to be having children anytime soon, I've learned a bit about it. Because having children after this surgery was a major concern of mine.

Many woman have had sucessful pregnancies after having gbs. My friend, who is 27, has had two children since her surgery and is fine and her children are completey normal. You have to be monitored closely but there isn't much difference. The nutrients still get to the child, but with a gbs you just need to stay on top of the extra calories by constantly eating small snacks to make up the difference.

After you have the surgery, you HAVE to take really good care of yourself. You're supposed to wait a couple of years before TRYING to get pregnant, but as long as she's doing what she's supposed to be doing there should be no problem.

the baby is so stupid. Cute, but dumb as a door nob. She goes all cross eyed and laughs whenever she gets hurt.
